Get the Mac build from Kingsoft, not from a DMG blog.
Current WPS builds target Apple silicon and Intel. Fetch them from the vendor download center. Random DMGs in forum threads are not a shortcut. This site is an independent handbook and is not affiliated with Kingsoft Office Software Corporation Limited.
Install path
Use wps.com/download. Drag to Applications. If Gatekeeper blocks a freshly downloaded app, confirm you are still on the vendor file, then follow Apple’s current “Open anyway” path. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally for this. Forum DMGs are not a shortcut.
Files with Windows cousins
DOCX still wins over Pages when the other party lives in Word. Fonts that exist on Windows may substitute on Mac. Embed or stick to Calibri alternatives you actually have. A heading that looked tight on a PC can wrap on a MacBook overnight.
iCloud versus WPS Cloud
Pick one sync story. Running both on the same Desktop folder creates conflict copies. See cloud and sync. Desktop and Documents in iCloud plus WPS Cloud is how “final-final” folders multiply.
Uninstall leftovers
Quit the apps. Drag WPS from Applications to Trash. Check Login Items for leftover helpers. If Word or Pages then owns DOCX, that is a default you set on purpose — or forgot to set. See uninstall.
