How-to
Empty cache, not your Documents folder.
WPS can leave update leftovers and preview caches on a small C: drive. Delete cache, not the DOCX you still need. This site is an independent handbook and is not affiliated with Kingsoft Office Software Corporation Limited.

Before you start
Copy important files to another drive first. Close WPS completely. Empty cache, not your Documents folder.
Update leftovers and preview caches are how a small C: drive fills itself. A folder named for WPS under your user profile is not automatically safe to delete if it holds actual documents — look first.
Steps
- Quit every WPS process Check the tray. On Windows, confirm Task Manager is clear of WPS tasks.
- Use in-app cleanup if it exists Some builds offer a cache or junk cleaner in settings. Run that before you delete folders by hand.
- Clear known cache directories Remove cache and temp folders named for WPS under your user profile. Do not delete the folder that holds your actual documents.
- Remove leftover installers Downloads named WPS-setup can be deleted after a successful official install. Never keep cracked copies.
- Turn off hungry cloud backup If the system drive is tiny, skip optional backup of huge folders. See the cloud page.
If it still fails
If the suite will not start after cleanup, launch guide.
